Bradford-based Newmason Properties took the award for Best Mill Conversion on its development of Victoria Mills in Shipley at the Royal Variety Club's property awards. Newmason Properties are spending £60 million on the conversion of the 130-year-old textile mill, locally known as Jerome's Mill, into 400 luxury apartments. The Victoria Mills development has been hailed as one of the most important developments in the Aire Valley, regenerating a mill, which had fallen into disuse and had been targeted by vandals. The regional awards are held annually to raise money for the Variety Club's children charity, which helps disabled and disadvantaged children in the Yorkshire region.
