TIM HARPER FCIOB
8.9.64 to 12.9.07
I have had the pleasure of knowing Tim Harper for the past 10 years, first as a friend and then as a work colleague.
Our wives first met at the toddler group and before we knew it we were both embroiled in the PTA, the Bonfire committee and in Tim’s case, football.
Both Tim’s sons are keen footballers and Tim himself was a fully qualified referee. Tim worked tirelessly for the community and his family.
I was fortunate to secure his services as our Project Director some 4 years ago. The scheme we have both worked on is Victoria Mills in Shipley which barely scratched the surface of Tim’s capabilities. That said, he had to contend with a world heritage site, flood risk assessments, the Environment Agency, listed building officers and planners. None of these fazed Tim, he took everything in his stride, never raising his voice, just a quiet silent face that moved the job on. Some have suggested that his emails were a bit sharp, my view was always “if the hat fits wear it”!!
Sadly Tim died on 12 September in York District Hospital from a pernicious form of meningitis and leaves Nicola his wife, Jake aged 18, Josh aged 16 and his little princess Holly aged 9.
Tim was a brilliant father, family man, referee, constructor and so much more. Tim was also my friend.
